Eric’s Background & Founding Envision Fitness
Eric has been helping people improve their strength and health since 2011. He began his professional personal training career at Lifetime Fitness after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh in 2013.
In 2015, while at Lifetime Fitness, Eric aspired to become an officer in the United States Marine Corps. In pursuing this new career path, he hired a personal trainer who became his mentor at Lifetime. Working with the trainer, training for the Marines, and helping his Lifetime clients quickly revealed Eric’s passion for wellness and innate talent for motivating others.
Unfortunately, due to lifelong scoliosis, kyphosis, and lordosis, Eric was prevented from becoming a marine. This experience shaped Eric’s career thereafter.
“I returned from an OCS prep weekend and could not move. My back couldn’t take it.”
After leaving Lifetime in 2016, he managed a small gym in Hopkins, Minnesota, for several months before starting Envision Fitness. Since our founding, Eric has spent countless hours helping people improve their functional strength and body awareness and learn how to prevent injuries.
Focused On Playing His Own Game
Eric believes in focusing on playing our own game; the idea that we see better results for our health and happiness if we embrace our journey and do not compare ourselves to the people around us.
“Should we expect immediate returns if your health is also an investment? Should we allow others to shape our road for us?”
Eric lives with his wife, two kids, two dogs, and their grumpy cat. He finds immense joy in exercising, writing, walking, and being present with family.
One of Eric’s biggest tips for changing lives is to encourage endless curiosity! He listens to podcasts about health, finance, investing, and business every single day and is an active writer on Substack.

Here’s an excerpt:
“We all aspire to be healthy. But I think it’s fair to say many of us do not enjoy the process of getting there. Progress is slow, results happen internally far faster than externally, and roadblocks are ever-present. But consider this: Ask any NFL player how they got there. What was their journey? Two commonalities will arise from each of them: Hard work and help.
This again, is why I love my job. Yes, you do have to do the hard work, but I get to help you do it.”
